AJKCCI evolves plan for industrial development in AJK region

MIRPUR: The Mirpur AJK Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AJKCCI) has evolved a comprehensive plan in coordination with the AJK government to promote industrial development in this part of the region. According to details, the plan aims to attract local and foreign investment, particularly from the UK-based Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, for boosting trade and industrial sectors in Azad Jammu and Kashmir areas. Additionally, efforts are underway to revive a significant number of sick industrial units in Mirpur and Bhimbher district industrial estates. On this occasion, Mirpur AJKCCI President Sabir Hussain Shah stated that recommendations have been submitted to the AJK government for early revival of over 50 sick industrial units and to promote industrialization across the region. The AJK government has pledged to encourage foreign investment in the industrial sector, with substantial funds allocated for the ongoing and upcoming fiscal years. Furthermore, Sabir Hussain Shah highlighted the Chamber's request for necessary facilities for foreign entrepreneurs, including UK-based Kashmiri expatriates, intending to establish industries in the region. He also emphasized the abundant potential for investments in hydel power generation, mineral resources, and tourism sectors in AJK.
