All main rivers continue to flow normal: FFC

ISLAMABAD:The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that all major rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej continue to flow normal as the monsoon season has already ended with no flood generating rains at present.

According to daily FFC report on Friday, the combined live storage of country’s major reservoirs (Tarbela, Chashma & Mangla) is 9.066 MAF (67.35% of 13.461 MAF).

According to Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, yesterday’s trough of Westerly Wave continues to prevail over Northeastern Afghanistan. For the ensuing 24 hours, mainly dry weather has been predicted over most parts of the country.

However, isolated thunderstorm/ rain of light intensity may occur over upper catchment of River Indus during the same period.
