Islamabad: Chairman Kashmir Institute of International Relations and Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani Sunday slams India’s government for exploiting and oppressing Kashmiris since revoking their autonomy in 2019 and accuses India of violating human rights and democratic norms.
In an exclusive Interview with Radio Pakistan in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal, he argued that India’s government has been implementing a series of measures aimed at altering the demographic makeup of Kashmir, including the settlement of non-Kashmiris in the region and the suppression of Kashmiri language and culture.
He claims that these policies are part of a broader strategy to assimilate Kashmir into the Indian mainstream, thereby erasing the unique identity and traditions of the Kashmiri people.

Modi led Indian government fulfilled the hindutwa and RSS ideology through the article 370 and 35A in Indian Allegedly Occopied Kashmir (IIOJK), he mentioned.
The United Nation (UN) and the Security Council have declared India’s illegal occupation illegal through several resolutions, he added.
The curriculum was forcefully changed for the Kashmirs, particularly, the history of Muslims was removed, he added.
He further said that the India was making a sinister attempt to destroy the rights of Kashmiris by changing the population ratio in Kashmir, adding, non-state residents are being resettled in Kashmir by changing their domicile.
Replying a question , he explained that after 2019, more than 10,000 women are missing due to communication blackout and curfew, adding, these figures are of FIRs filed for missing women.
An attempt was also made to make Kashmiris homeless by demolishing more than 6,000 houses, he added.
