MULTAN:Agriculture Mechanization Research Institute (AMRI) on Monday organized a one-day training workshop on tractor simulation to provide maximum awareness to drivers about various operations related to tractor use in the agriculture field.
Additional Secretary Agriculture (Admin) Southern Punjab, Aasif Raza, graced the workshop as a special guest. A tractor simulator is a computer-based system designed to replicate the operation of a real tractor in a simulated environment. It utilizes technology, such as computer graphics and motion sensors to a realistic experience for users. The tractor simulators are used for training in developed countries. The drivers learn essential skills in a controlled virtual setting.
The drivers learn steering, gear, steering, gear shifting, clutch control, and braking, providing a safe and effective way to train individuals before they operate real tractors in the field.

r is a secure way for drivers to gain proficiency without the risk of accidents. The tractor training simulator is a revolutionary technology that offers new and experienced drivers the opportunity to learn the skills of driving a tractor in a simulated real-farm environment.
Additional Director General, Amir Shahzad, highlighted in his address that the use of modern techniques, computer graphics, and motion sensors creates a realistic environment that replicates real fields, roads, and obstacles. In this simulator, drivers can practice controlling all essential functions of a tractor, including steering, gear shifting, clutch, and brakes.
The workshop covered aspects such as tractor steering, gearboxes, clutches, and brakes, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding. Drivers could experience driving in various conditions like rain, sunlight, and low visibility. Shahzad further stated that students can learn at their own pace and practice repeatedly until they feel confident.
Training simul
ators assist tractor drivers in gaining confidence and skills before venturing into real-world tractor operations, reducing the risk of traffic accidents. Besides tractor operation, the workshop also offered training in operating combine harvesters and disk harrows with the tractor simulator.
Officials from the Department of Agricultural Engineering, professors from Agricultural Universities, and students also participated in the one-day tractor simulator workshop on this occasion.
