RAWALPINDI: District Health Authority (DHA) has intensified its anti dengue campaign through increased field visits and organizing awareness activities. DHA and its allied departments are actively persuading the prescribed SOPs through an organized surveillance system.
An awareness seminar in this regard was organized in collaboration with PWD and Airport Cooperative societies and Cooperative Department Rawalpindi. Speakers in the seminar informed the audience about the causes of dengue fever and essential preventive measures.
They said that the environment should be kept clean to prevent the growth of dengue larvae. Water stagnation should be avoided and the water tanks should be properly caped. True audience was urged to dispose of scrap wood and old tires immediately. It was stressed that by following anti dengue SOPs the society could get rid of dengue.
For a similar objective, another activity was held in Bangash colony where District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Ehsan Ghani visited UC 9 and reviewed the
anti-dengue activities in detail. While giving instructions to the anti-dengue teams, he said that the implementation of the anti-dengue SOPs should be ensured.
He further directed to strictly monitor the developing situations, since rainy season was known as dengue favouring weather. To counter this, more caution is needed, he said.
