Anti-harassment awareness drive launched

Faisalabad:An awareness campaign against harassment has been launched at the Postgraduate College of Allied Medical Sciences Faisalabad under the zero-tolerance policy of Punjab Ombudsperson Dr Najma Afzal Khan for educating students and staff about their rights, complaint mechanisms and the role of institutional harassment committees.



Regional Coordinator Faisalabad Regional Office Khalid Hassan delivered an informative lecture on the formation of harassment committees and procedures for handling complaints and proceedings before such committees.



He briefed the participants about institutional mechanisms for addressing harassment-related complaints and the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful educational environment.



Khalid Hassan explained the relevant procedures and responsibilities of harassment committees, enabling students and staff to better understand the available mechanisms for reporting and addressing complaints.



The campaign is part of Punjab Ombudsperson’s efforts to promote awareness about protection against harassment and encourage educational institutions to ensure a safe, dignified and supportive environment for students and employees, he added.



During session, the students and staff members also raised various questions regarding harassment-related issues and the functioning of the committees and the speakers responded to the same appropriately.



College Principal Dr Sajid-ur-Rehman, faculty and students in a large number were present on the occasion.
