Multan: The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has fully activated its anti-littering squad as part of a special initiative to improve cleanliness across the city, with action against those throwing waste on roads and public places to follow after an awareness and warning phase.

The squad has started visiting roads, streets and intersections to educate citizens and warn those found littering, while legal action will be taken against violators in the next phase, Chief Executive Officer MWMC Imran Munir said.

He said public cooperation was essential for maintaining a clean city and urged citizens to dispose of waste only at designated points and help the administration keep roads and intersections free of litter.

The CEO also visited different parts of the city and inspected ongoing cleanliness operations. During the visits, he directed field officers and sanitation staff to further improve the effectiveness of the cleaning drive and ensure better cleanliness standards across the city.
