FAISALABAD: The agriculture department has invited applications from farmers by October 20, 2023 for demonstration of wheat plots under National Programme for increasing wheat productivity. Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Department Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood said here on Tuesday the growers who had 5 to 12.5 acres cultivable land in irrigated areas were eligible to participate in the completion of wheat demonstration plots and the Punjab government would provide them Rs 20,000 per acre as crop expenditures. He said that application forms were available free of cost in the office of agriculture officer (extension) and assistant director agriculture (extension) and the applications would be received up to October 20, 2023. After balloting, successful farmers would be bound to cultivate wheat demonstration plots according to recommendations of agriculture department. More information in this regard could be obtained from nearest agriculture office, he added.
