Lahore: Air pollution levels in the provincial capital have begun to rise ahead of the winter season, with the city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 297.
According to AQI data, Lahore ranked at the top of the list of the world’s most polluted cities. The highest level of air pollution in the city was recorded on Barki Road, where the AQI hit 322.
AQI readings were recorded at 282 in Paragon City, 241 in Gulberg, 238 in Allama Iqbal Town, and 226 on Bedian Road. The AQI stood at 219 in the Cantonment area and 198 in DHA Phase 5.
