Sukkur:The Department of Environmental Sciences, Aror University Sukkur, in collaboration with the Village Development Organization (VDO) Ghotki, organized Public Forum 2026 and a formal report launch ceremony on campus here on Thursday.
The comprehensive study highlights critical challenges faced by district Ghotki pertaining to environment, energy, health, and acute water shortages. The report also proposes a set of practical, sustainable solutions to address these pressing issues.
Vice Chancellor, Aror University Sukkur, Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand graced the occasion as chief guest. Addressing the forum, he emphasized the role of academia in bridging research with community development and lauded the joint efforts of the university and VDO for bringing grassroots issues to the forefront.
The forum featured detailed presentations on the findings of the report, followed by an interactive discussion with faculty, researchers, students, and civil society representatives. The organizers extended special appreciation to Engr. Waheed Ali Khokhar, Dr. Altaf Alam Noonari, and Ali Hassan Mahar for their valuable contributions in compiling the report.
