FAISALABAD: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of D-Type Colony was arrested on the charge of taking illegal gratification from a citizen.
A spokesman for the Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) said here on Sunday that ASI Ashraf had demanded Rs.20,000 from a citizen, Zayyan, for his legal work. On his complaint, an ACE team, headed by ACE circle officer Sarfraz Nawaz Aulakh, nabbed the ASI red handed while receiving the bribe.
The officer also recovered marked currency notes from the possession of the ASI and locked him behind bars for further investigations, he added.
