Islamabad: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Wednesday rebuked the accused for repeatedly seeking adjournments in the November 26 protest case involving the crushing of Rangers personnel, and directed that the Islamabad High Court’s order be produced at the next hearing.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case.
During the previous hearing, the accused, Hashim, appeared before the court along with his father.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra reprimanded the accused, saying, “You file applications to cause unnecessary delays. The court is giving you a last opportunity and also instructed to produce the High Court’s order at the next hearing.
The judge further warned that if delaying tactics were used at the next hearing, he would appoint a lawyer for the accused at government expense.
The court summoned prosecution witnesses for the next hearing and adjourned further proceedings until October 10.
A total of six witnesses’ statements have been recorded in the case so far.
It may be noted that a case against the accused is registered at Ramna Police Station.
