LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Additional IG Fayyaz Ahmad Dev has pledged foolproof security to the Australian and Pakistani cricket teams, which reached Lahore on Thursday to play their last test match here.
The Lahore police had made stringent security arrangement on the arrival of both teams and officials. DIG Operations Dr Abid Khan, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muntazir Mehdi, SSP Operations Capt (retd) Mustansar Feroze, SSP Security, SSP Dolphin Squad and ARF stayed at the Allama Iqbal Airport and the route till the teams reached their place of stay in the city.
As many as 8,000 police officers and officials including SPs, DSPs, SHOs and upper subordinates would perform security duty during the stay of both the teams in Lahore.
The CCPO said that Lahore Police played crucial role for revival of cricket events in the city. The police had complete support of Punjab Safe Cities Authority, district administration, PCB and law-enforcement agencies to ensure security.
