Quetta: On the 10th anniversary of the Civil Hospital Quetta tragedy, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail paid tribute to the martyrs of August 8, 2016.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti described August 8 as ‘the darkest day in Balochistan’s history, ‘ stressing that the sacrifices of the lawyers, journalists, and citizens who lost their lives in the attack can never be forgotten.
He said the wounds of the tragedy remain fresh, as terrorism deprived the province of its most talented individuals.
Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the people and institutions of Balochistan have made unmatched sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, and vowed that the martyrs’ sacrifices will not go in vain. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to peace, stability, and the protection of citizens, pledging that operations against terrorism will continue with full force.
Governor Jaffar Mandokhail, in his message, said that observing Lawyers’ Martyrs Day is m
eant to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the Civil Hospital tragedy.
He noted that the terrorist attack deprived the province of many distinguished legal experts, calling it an irreparable loss.
The Governor stressed that the blood of the martyrs will never be wasted, as their sacrifice upholds justice and the rule of law.
He saluted the martyrs and their families, affirming that their legacy will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.
Both leaders prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and patience for their families, underscoring that the tragedy remains a defining moment in Balochistan’s struggle against terrorism.
