Faisalabad: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddiq said that Faisalabad’s historic Clock Tower bazaars are set for a renewed facelift and ordered acceleration of ongoing beautification works in Aminpur Bazaar and Jhang Bazaar.
He directed the departments concerned to ensure quality, timely completion and minimum disruption to traders, pedestrians and residents. He issued the directions while chairing a meeting held to review beautification and development works in the bazaars surrounding Clock Tower.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Aurangzaib Goraya, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Usman Ghani, Deputy Director Development, NESPAK officials and representatives of other relevant departments attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of ongoing beautification works in Aminpur Bazaar and Jhang Bazaar while the officials briefed Deputy Commissioner about the various components of the projects and their implementation status.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddiq directed the concerned officers to further accelerate the pace of beautification work in Aminpur and Jhang bazaars, stressing that no compromise would be made on quality of construction and development works.
He directed the departments concerned to complete all works within the stipulated timelines and ensure that construction activities caused minimum inconvenience to citizens, traders and pedestrians.
He said that the beautification projects were aimed at enhancing appearance of the historic bazaars surrounding Clock Tower and improving civic facilities for the people.
He directed that each stage of the projects should be closely monitored in accordance with the approved plans to ensure effective implementation.
During meeting, approval was also given for the installation of monuments in Aminpur Bazaar and Jhang Bazaar.
The Deputy Commissioner was also briefed about the proposed beautification works for Karkhana Bazaar.
He directed the relevant departments to take historical character of Faisalabad, aesthetic appeal of the bazaars and convenience of the citizens into account while executing beautification schemes.
He stressed the need for close coordination among all departments so that the projects could proceed smoothly and be completed within the prescribed timeframe.
He said that Clock Tower and its adjoining historic bazaars represented an important part of Faisalabad’s identity and heritage.
He directed that quality, aesthetic appeal and durability be given particular importance in all renovation and beautification works to ensure that the improvements remained beneficial for citizens in the long term.
