BISE Lahore launches mock test for e-marking system

Lahore: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore on Friday initiated a mock test for the on-screen marking system as part of a pilot project aimed at introducing e-marking of examination papers.



On the first day of the pilot project,150 students from Government College University (GCU),Punjab College and Superior College appeared in the examination using e-sheets.



Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations Muzammil Mahmood reviewed the arrangements along with BISE Lahore Chairman Professor Badar-ul-Islam and Controller of Examinations,Tauseef-ur-Rehman.



Muzammil Mahmood said the e-marking system would help enhance students’ confidence in the examination system and facilitate the identification of impersonators through the use of e-sheets.



Professor Badar-ul-Islam said expert teachers from across the country would be able to mark examination papers under the new system,adding that only qualified teachers would be authorized to perform the marking.



Tauseef-ur-Rehman said the introduction of e-marking would significantly reduce complaints related to rechecking of examination papers.
