Multan: Gulgasht police claimed on Friday to have arrested an alleged liquor dealer and recovered a large quantity of imported liquor during a crackdown against drug peddlers and suppliers of illicit alcohol in the city.
According to police sources, the operation was conducted on a tip-off by a police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO), Rao Muhammad Naeem. Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Waseem, along with other officials, took part in the raid and apprehended the suspect, identified as Shazal was arrested during a raid near Nandla Chowk within the limits of Gulgasht Police Station.
Police recovered 50 bottles of imported liquor and 45 imported liquor cans from the suspect’s possession.
A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation was underway, police added.
