Brooke Pakistan delegation visits UVAS

LAHORE:Delegations from Brooke Pakistan led by Global Farriery Advisor Angus Wiseman along with Farrier Consultant Tom Burch, Animal Welfare Officer Dr Vincent Oloo and Animal Welfare Officer Dr Samanta Opera visited Department of Surgery at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore to reviewed available facilities at surgery department, and they also showed interest in providing capacity building training to students and para-veterinary staff.

Later, a meeting was held and Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the meeting while Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Healthcare Manager Brook Pakistan Mr Jawaid Khan, Regional Manager Dr Arshad Ansari and UVAS faculty member and officials from Brooke Pakistan were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said that collaboration with Brook Pakistan was not only important for animal welfare but also beneficial for poor farming community as well. He said that the collaborative work with Brook Pakistan was very necessary for imparting practical training to students and para-veterinary staff regarding equine handling, pain recognition, clinical competency skills and farrier treatment for their capacity building.
