MoU signing ceremony between KATI, CPK held

Karachi: The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KATI and CPK took place at KATI's premises on Sunday.

Notable guests including Usman Ghani Siddique (DIGP East Zone Karachi) and Wing 34 Commander Col Zeeshan Ali Malik PSC attended the ceremony.

President KATI Junaid Naqi, Deputy Patron in Chief KATI Zubair Chhaya, Vice President KATI Syed Tariq Hussain, former President KATI Johar Qandhari and Danish Khan (Chairman Law and order, KATI were present in the ceremony. CPK representatives included Murad Soni, Zahid Hameed, Kamran Habib, Muhammad Irfan Abu Baker, Umair Chottani and others were also present on the occasion.

After the MOU signing, the CPK team presented shields to the guests and the KATI representatives as a gesture of appreciation.

Rangers foil robbery attempt on M-5 Motorway in Ghotki

Karachi: Pakistan Rangers Sindh, in collaboration with local police, successfully thwarted an armed robbery and kidnapping attempt on a cargo container in the riverine (katcha) areas of interior Sindh. According to a Rangers spokesperson, the incident took place on the M-5 Motorway in Ghotki District, where 7 to 8 armed robbers attempted to seize a cargo container and kidnap its driver and crew. The suspects, who were reportedly from the Katcha area of Ronti Nek Mor via Bacho Band, opened fire when the Rangers arrived at the scene. Despite sustaining minor injuries, the driver and crew were safely rescued after the Rangers' swift retaliatory action forced the robbers to flee, leaving the container behind. The injured were given first aid by the Rangers and later transferred to a hospital. The Rangers continue their operations against criminal elements in Sindh's riverine areas, ensuring the safety of the region's roads and communities.

Governor inaugurates Shine Humanity’s health unit van

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Saturday inaugurated Shine Humanity's Health Unit Van at Governor House. Speaking to the media on the occasion, he stated that under the Governor's Initiative, the health unit van will provide free medical services and disease diagnosis. The facility will particularly benefit IT students, visitors at Umeed Ki Ghanti, and other deserving individuals, ensuring immediate medical assistance. Governor Sindh emphasized that public health is a top priority, and welfare organizations play a crucial role in supporting the government's efforts. He commended Shine Humanity for its outstanding social services. Highlighting other initiatives, he mentioned that 50,000 students are receiving advanced IT education at Governor House, and that its doors remain open to the public, with hundreds of thousands of visitors having toured the premises so far.

Governor Sindh visits Ethiopian Embassy tourism pavilion at PTM 2025

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori on Saturday visited the Ethiopian Embassy Islamabad's Tourism Pavilion which has been set up at the Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) 2025 to promote Ethiopian cultural diversity and multifaceted tourism.

Ibrahim Khalid Tawab, Honorary Consul of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Karachi, along with the Embassy staff received the Governor Sindh upon his arrival at the pavilion.

On the occasion, the Governor Sindh was briefed about Ethiopian tourism, cultural heritage and also about the development of its capital Addis Ababa on the modern lines.

The FDR Ethiopia and Pakistan enjoy strong bilateral relations, said the Governor Sindh while appreciating the role of the Ethiopian Embassy Islamabad in promoting its tourism and culture in Pakistan.

Last year at the Karachi Feast, the Governor Sindh inaugurated the Ethiopian Embassy Tourism Pavilion and this time, he has the honor to open the traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony.

International Musheer Rabbani Memorial Five-A-Side hockey tournament: Four fixtures decided on the first day

Karachi: Four matches were decided on the first day of the International Musheer Rabbani Memorial Five-A-Side Hockey Tournament. Lions and Sultans won one each, while Spartans won both their matches, Bilawal and Ayan scored hat-tricks.

The opening match of the tournament, which began on Saturday at the Mini Astro Turf KHA Sports Complex , was played between Spartans and Gladiators, in which Spartans defeated Gladiators 1-0 goal scored by Ali Hasnain.

In the second match, Lions defeated Dolphins 3-1, Bilawal scored all three goals for the winning team and scored a hat-trick. Umar scored the only goal for Dolphins.

In the third match, Sultans defeated Gladiators 4-2 after a one-sided match. Ayan scored his second hat-trick of the tournament for the winning team, while Ali Ghauri, Sami and Ayesha scored three goals. Junior scored one goal each.

In the fourth match, the Spartans defeated the Dolphins 1-0 thanks to a goal from Bari, securing their second win of the day.
