Karachi: President People's Party Sindh Nisar Khuhro on Friday said that the conviction of the PTI founder in the 190 million pound case would not lead to any political instability in the country.

Talking to the media here at Sindh Assembly building, Nisar Khuhro said that if the PTI founder wants to prove himself innocent, he should file an appeal in the court against the conviction.

Imran Khan has been sentenced by the court and only the court of competent jurisdiction can hear his appeal, Nisar Khuhro added.

He said that the founder of PTI himself used to say that the law should be equal for everyone, so he should adopt legal way against the conviction.

Karachi: Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar inaugurated the 3-day 'Sindh Beach Games' at the Nishan-e-Pakistan site on the beach, being organized by the Sindh government's department of Sports, at Karachi's seaside.

The ceremony was attended by Sindh's Minister of Religious Affairs Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Parliamentary Secretary Saima Agha, Sindh Sports Secretary Abdul Aleem Lashari, South District Sports Officer Fareed Khan, Asghar Baloch, and others.

The Beach Games feature 500 athletes from all divisions of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sukkur. Competitions are being held in various sports, including boxing, throwball, handball, volleyball, kabaddi, soccer, karate, badminton, and others.

Speaking to the media, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, announced that Sindh is hosting the National Games this year, with grand preparations underway.

He emphasized that athletes from across the country would be provided with all possible facilities in the province. 'Providing opportunities to young talent at the national level will make our country proud,' he said.

The provincial minister further stated that following the National Games, National Beach Games will also be organized, and Sindh Beach Games will now become a permanent part of the province's annual sports calendar. Competitions will be held every year.

He added that he first introduced the idea of Beach Games in 2017, and this year, the games are being organized in a much better manner.

Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar also stressed the importance of transparent trials for the selection of players, which will be overseen by the department.

He assured that players from all districts and councils in Sindh would be given equal opportunities to participate in sports.

He added, 'It is the right of Sindh's athletes to represent their country at the national and international levels.' Promising foreign tours for athletes who perform well at the provincial level, he noted that Sindh's cultural sports have also been included in sports activities. Discussions are ongoing to organize leagues for traditional games like Malakhra (Sindhi wrestling) and other cultural sports.

Responding to a question, the minister urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to provide opportunities for Sindh's youth in cricket, stating that the province has abundant cricketing talent. 'If opportunities are provided, the passion among the youth will grow further,' he said.

The Sindh Beach Games will continue until Sunday, with medals and cash prizes awarded to the best-performing teams and players.

Karachi: Sindh Education Department has initiated the process of posting teachers under the Student-Teacher Ratio (STR) in all Government schools across the province.

According to statement issued by the spokesman of the minister, on the directions of Syed Sardar Ali Shah, it will be ensured that no school in the province will remain closed due to lack of teachers.

The Education Department as issued posting orders of 4588 teachers to implement the Student-Teacher Ratio system. The teachers have been posted at respective Talukas as per need and convenience.

The objective of their posting is to ensure the availability of teachers in schools according to the need of the students.

Education Minister said that Sindh Government was ensuring availability of teachers in all schools and viable schools were activated and now it was responsibility of the teachers to discharge their duties honestly. He hoped that now no school will remain closed due to unavailability of teachers.

Sardar Ali Shah also appealed to civil society to take ownership of schools in their areas, while steps are also being taken to make the monitoring system for teacher attendance more effective.

Karachi: The High Commissioner of Rwanda Harerimana Fatou visited Trade Development Authority of Pakistan office here on Friday and held meeting with Chief Executive Officer of the Authority Muhammad Zubair Motiwala and Secretary Sheryar Taj.

The matters related to trade cooperation among both the countries were discussed during the meeting.

Both the sides emphasised the importance of strengthening trade relations and to identify the opportunities for collaboration in Textiles, Agriculture and Technology sectors.

In 2022, Pakistan's exports to Rwanda amounted to $ 47.6 million which consisted mainly of rice, beverages and pharmaceuticals. Pakistan imported tea, coffee and minerals from Rwanda.

The High Commissioner highlighted Rwanda's interest in leveraging Pakistan's expertise in trade and export development, while TDAP reaffirmed its commitment to fostering partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic growth for both nations.

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has inaugurated 3- day Livestock Expo-2025 here at Expo Centre on Friday.

The three-day Livestock Expo 2025 (from Jan 17 to 19) is being organised by the Livestock and Fisheries Department in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Department, KMC, and the Commissioner of Karachi.

The event was attended by Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Mohammad Ali Malkani (the host), Minister of Culture Zulfiqar Shah, provincial ministers from the Balochistan government, MPAs, diplomats, Secretary of Livestock Kazim Jatoi, director generals of various departments, and other officials.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Livestock Expo, the CM highlighted the opportunities available in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, which possess immense potential for growth and innovation.

The Chief Minister emphasised the significance of the livestock sector in boosting the province's economy and enhancing food security. He stated that numerous opportunities in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries possess immense potential for growth and innovation. He urged the private sector to invest in the livestock and fisheries sectors to achieve substantial returns and enhance the national economy.

Shah stressed the necessity of increasing exports to fortify the country's foreign exchange reserves.

Murad Shah announced initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, enhancing animal health, increasing yields, and introducing innovative farming methods. He noted that his government's vision focuses on empowering rural communities, bolstering farmers' livelihoods, and driving sustainable growth in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

He acknowledged that despite its potential, the sector continues to face challenges such as limited resources, outdated practices, and inadequate access to modern technology. However, the Sindh Government, in collaboration with international banks, businesses, and institutions, is committed to addressing these challenges. 'Previously, vaccines were imported, but now we have commenced local production, which is a significant achievement,' he remarked.

Murad Ali Shah also addressed the current economic challenges, urging collective efforts to overcome them. 'If we unite, we can surmount the issues posed by IMF programmes. Our collective goal must be the progress of Pakistan,' he added.
