Lahore: The training of under-training ASPs from the National Police Academy has been successfully completed at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA).

As part of the 51st Common, the ASPs received briefings on AI-based policing, the Virtual Women Police Station, and the Child Centre at Safe City. Officers were also introduced to the Emergency Panic Button and the Free Wi-Fi Service Project available at 130 different locations in Lahore. The trainee officers observed the handling of 15 emergency calls and the swift police response process.

Practical training was provided on the functions and services of various PSCA units, including the Safe City Complaint Portal Service, Media Monitoring, the E-Challan System, and other modern policing initiatives.

PSCA Managing Director Ahsan Younis stated that equipping young officers with technological expertise would enhance the efficiency of the police force. He stated that traditional policing methods are becoming obsolete, while Artificial Intelligence is proving to be a crucial tool for crime prevention and modern law enforcement worldwide.

The trainee officers expressed that their training at PSCA has been instrumental in developing advanced investigative skills and improving crime prevention strategies.

Lahore: The Jinnah Hospital administration has strongly rejected reports regarding shortage of medicines in the hospital's emergency department, calling them baseless and untrue.

According to the Jinnah Hospital spokesman on Friday, such fabricated news without verification falls under lies, slander, and accusations. He reassured that the hospital has a sufficient stock of emergency medicines, which are being provided to patients free of cost.

The spokesperson further stated that negative propaganda against Jinnah Hospital Lahore is being spread by corrupt mafias who have been removed from the hospital. He claimed that this misinformation campaign is part of a well-planned scheme to defame the government.

Addressing specific allegations, he clarified that reports of a medicine shortage in the eye ward and operation theatre are completely false. He emphasized that the eye department conducts surgeries only twice a week, and all required medicines are fully available for these operations.

Lahore: Tortured bodies of a woman and her daughter have been recovered from a drain on the Ring Road in Tera village of the North Cantonment area on Friday.

According to police sources, the deceased girl appeared to be 10 years old and woman in her early thirties. The bodies could not be identified, the police and forensic team are collecting evidence, after which investigations will be started on various aspects.

Meanwhile, according to an Edhi spokesperson, after the action of the police and investigative agencies, the bodies will be shifted to the morgue by Edhi ambulance.

Lahore: The Punjab Health Department has devised a special polio prevention plan for Eid-ul-Fitr to curb the spread of the polio virus under the Polio Eradication Programme.

According to health sources on Friday, children traveling during the holiday will be administered polio vaccination drops, while children entering Punjab will also be vaccinated. The initiative has been approved by Adeel Tasawar, head of the Polio Eradication Program.

To ensure effective implementation, polio teams will be deployed at key locations in 13 districts of Punjab, including bus terminals, railway stations, hospitals, and shopping centers.

The teams will be stationed in major cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, Mianwali, Multan, Faisalabad, and Sialkot, along with Gujranwala, Gujrat, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Okara, and Sahiwal. Additional deployments will take place in Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Sargodha.

The deployment will begin on March 22 and will continue for 20 days to maximize outreach.

Adeel Tasawar emphasized that the polio virus poses a threat to all children, and these measures are essential to halt its transmission and protect public health.

Lahore: In a landmark move aimed at empowering the nation's youth and ensuring a prosperous future for Pakistan,the government has announced the launch of a Digital Youth Hub,a groundbreaking platform to connect young Pakistanis with career opportunities,scholarships,internships and employment both within the country and globally. Under the leadership of Prime Minister(PM) Shahbaz Sharif,the Digital Youth Hub was a part of the government's broader effort to bolster youth engagement through the Prime Minister's Youth Program and the creation of the National Youth Council. These initiatives aim to address key areas like education,employment and skill development,with a focus on youth across all provinces of Pakistan. It was disclosed by Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan Chairman Prime Minister's Youth Programme while addressing a press conference here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Complex on Friday. He said the platform will offer a range of services,including career counseling employment listings and training programs,making it the first of its kind not only in Pakistan but globally. This portal will help connect young people with employers,including both the public and private sectors,as well as international opportunities in countries such as Saudi Arabia,UAE,Japan,South Korea,Canada and the United States. The launch of this digital hub will help young Pakistanis access blue-collar,white-collar and grey-collar job opportunities suited to their skill sets. Speaking about the initiative,he emphasized that Pakistan's youth will benefit from a data-driven platform. The portal will allow users to register their profiles and receive personalized employment and educational opportunities based on their qualifications and skills. It was being described as an "AI-powered" portal that will provide tailored recommendations for job placements, training programs, and scholarships."Pakistan's young people will now have access to a world of opportunities at their fingertips. Whether it's finding a job in a foreign country or securing a schol arship,our goal was to equip the youth with the tools they need to build successful careers,"said the chairman. One of the most significant aspects of the platform was its support for job seekers. The government was introducing an Interest-Free Loan Program under the Prime Minister's Youth Loan Program, which will provide young workers with financial assistance to settle into their new jobs abroad. This initiative was designed to ease the financial burden of relocating,including travel expenses and initial living costs. The platform was set to officially launch on March 24,2025(Monday), by the Prime Minister(PM) in a virtual event that will be accessible to Pakistani youth worldwide. Key figures from Pakistan's government,industry and education sectors will join the event,showcasing how this initiative will shape the future of the nation. Rana Mashhood expressed his commitment and said "this is not just a digital platform; it's the beginning of a new chapter for Pakistan's future. Our youth are the key to the nation's prosperity and this hub will help unlock their full potential." The Digital Youth Hub was poised to become a game-changer in shaping the careers of young Pakistanis,both at home and abroad. With a target of reaching 10 to 15 million young people in the first year,this platform promises to be a critical tool in the country's efforts to build a robust, modern economy,while offering a ray of hope for millions of aspiring young professionals. Lahore: A meeting regarding traffic management was held at the Central Police Office here on Friday under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar.

The meeting was attended by Additional IG Traffic Mirza Farhan Baig and SSP Headquarters Traffic Punjab, Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, while all CTOs and District Traffic Officers participated via video link.

The meeting focused on reviewing steps to improve traffic flow and the implementation of traffic laws in alignment with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

IG Punjab instructed CTOs and DTOs to urgently increase the rate of driving licenses issued across the province.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, traffic officers have been assigned the task of optimizing select roads for better traffic flow, enhanced road safety, and strict law enforcement. IG Punjab emphasized the need to ensure the development of road infrastructure and the strict enforcement of traffic discipline, especially in Lahore and across the province.

He also instructed the adoption of a zero-tolerance policy for traffic law violations to reduce accidents.

IG Punjab further directed an increase in the recovery rate of licensing and e-challaning, as well as boosting the enrollment of students in driving training schools.

He expressed concerns over the underperformance of several District Traffic Officers in various districts. However, he commended the efforts of Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Multan in improving road infrastructure, removing illegal encroachments, and addressing the issue of begging.

Additionally, IG Punjab emphasized the need for implementing an axle load management system on highways and roads. He instructed that measures be taken to combat one-wheeling, underage and unlicensed driving, over-speeding, helmet violations, and illegal transportation.

IG Punjab also called for outreach programs at colleges and universities to increase the number of driving licenses among students.

To raise awareness about traffic laws and lane discipline, a collaborative action plan will be developed with transporters and educators.
