ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is continuing its year-round cleanliness drive across Islamabad, with citizens appreciating the efforts of sanitation teams to keep the federal capital clean, green and pollution-free.
According to a press issued here on Tuesday, The sanitation teams are working round the clock to maintain cleanliness on roads, streets, in markets, residential sectors and public places, ensuring regular waste collection and disposal.
The campaign is being carried out under the directions of Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the supervision of CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf, with a focus on improving sanitation services and ensuring effective solid waste management.
The sanitation staff also play a key role during the monsoon season, when heavy rainfall leaves mud, debris and other waste on roads and public places. The teams often work late at night and early in the morning to clear affected areas, remove obstructions and help maintain smooth traffic flow.
Citizens have appreciated the dedication and hard work of sanitation workers, saying their efforts contribute significantly to maintaining the cleanliness, beauty and accessibility of the federal capital.
The CDA’s cleanliness operations cover major roads, streets, commercial centres, residential areas and public spaces. Timely waste collection and proper disposal help prevent the accumulation of garbage, reduce unhygienic conditions and maintain a healthy urban environment.
The authority has reiterated its commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards through regular operations, effective monitoring and timely action to address sanitation-related issues.
The CDA has also urged citizens, traders and visitors to cooperate with sanitation teams by disposing of waste responsibly, avoiding littering in public places and refraining from dumping garbage into drains and waterways.
The authority said public cooperation was essential for sustaining cleanliness, reducing pollution and preserving Islamabad’s natural beauty.
