ISLAMABAD:The Designating Committee of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved building plans for several commercial properties in the federal capital. The officials from the Authority’s Planning Wing and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
The committee scrutinized documents for nine commercial plots. Notably, Plot No. 13, located on Club Road and spanning 27,394.40 square yards, received approval for the construction of a 26-story hotel building. Similarly, Sector I-8’s plot number 53, covering an area of 666.66 square yards, was granted permission for the construction of a 6-story commercial building. Additionally, plot number 14 in Sector F-8, measuring 416.66 square yards, obtained approval for a 7-story commercial building.
In another significant decision, the Designating Committee approved the building plans and drawings for the construction of a 9-story institute for the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) on plot number 16, Sector H-9, which spans 4,840.40 square yards.
The Asian Development Bank’s building plan on a 4,840.00 square yards plot in Sector G-5, comprising nine floors, also received approval.
Furthermore, in Zone IV, Plot No. 62 on Street Avenue One, 58 Road, Bahria Enclave, measuring 542.22 square yards, was granted permission for the construction of a 6-story commercial building, following a thorough examination of the documents.
Additionally, the committee addressed Plot No. B-2 in the New Blue Area, which spans 1,333.33 square yards and was approved for the construction of 15-story commercial buildings.
Moreover, Plot No. 6 in Sector C-1 of the Marina Anchorage, covering 271.11 square yards, was designated for the construction of a 6-story commercial building.
However, during the meeting, the committee decided to postpone approval for the building plans and drawings for Plot Nos. 136, 138, and 140 in Gilbert Green, which collectively cover 1,166.66 square yards. The delay was attributed to legal requirements not being fully met, and these plans will be revisited in the next session.
These developments are part of the CDA’s ongoing efforts to regulate and facilitate urban development in the capital city, ensuring adherence to building codes and standards while promoting responsible urban expansion.
