FAISALABAD:The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has distributed commendation certificates and cash prizes among 31 linemen in recognition of their excellent performance while adopting safety measures during fiscal year 2021-22.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Additional Director General Health Safety Environment & Quality Control Assurance Munawar Mehmood said that adoption of safety measures were prerequisite for entire field staff of power distribution companies but some employees did not care it which some time caused untoward incidents.
He said that Chief Executive Officer Fesco Engineer Bashir Ahmed had issued clear-cut directions to the entire field staff that they should adopt safety measures at every cost while working on live lines, otherwise, strict action would be taken against the disobedient worker.
Hence, the Fesco line staff adopted safety measures strictly while working on live lines as the company had approved “zero-tolerance” policy in this regard, he added.
DG Munawar Mehmood said that now Fesco chief directed the Deputy Director Safety Muhammad Saeed Raza to check performance of linemen and select the best line man so as to encourage him and convince others for adopting safety measures and improving performance.
Hence, deputy director safety selected 31 best linemen from all circles and departments who not only adopted safety measures but also showed excellent performance during three-month of financial year 2021-22, by evaluating their performance of April, May and June 2022.
Among them included lineman Muhammad Sultan of Faisalabad Road Sub-division Jaranwala (First Circle), Sajjad Hussain of Faiz Abad Sub-division (Second Circle), Falak Sher of Gojra Rural Sub-division (Jhang Circle), Ghulam Rasool of Johar Abad Sub-division (Sargodha Circle), Javaid Sharif of Kaloorkot Sub-division (Mianwali Circle), Muhammad Ashraf of Sargodha Construction Sub-division (PD Construction), Nasir Haneef of TLC Sub-division (GSC) and Zahid Nadeem of Sargodha-1 Sub-division (GSO Circle), etc.
Later, the Fesco BoDs approved cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for best linemen and distributed among them in a formal ceremony, he added.
