FAISALABAD:The chambers should present workable and viable recommendations for new industrial policy to discourage wastage of energy so that production cost could be brought down and surplus products could be exported in international markets. This was said by Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, the chief executive officer National Productivity Organization (NPO), on Saturday. Addressing a function at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), the NPO was providing facility of energy audit and this wastage could be easily checked with this facility which was provided on “no profit, no loss” basis.
He said the Punjab government also funded a scheme for the lather, engineering, auto and surgical sectors. He said the FCCI should also play its role to include textile in it so that innovation could be brought in this sector which was earning heavy foreign exchange for the country. Responding to a question, he said that global size of engineering was 53 per cent while textile share was only 4 to 5 percent. “Hence we must focus on the promotion engineering sector and pave way for high value textile products to ensure maximum profit.”
Responding to another question, Alamgir Chaudhry said that he could request TEVTA to arrange local and international experts of Artificial Intelligence or train master trainers as this segment was growing at must faster pace. Vice President FCCI Hajji Muhammad Aslam Bhalli presented welcome address while Rana Sikandar Azam was also present. A question-answer session was also held which was participated by Dr Habib Aslam Gaba, Muhammad Tayyab and Samia Bukhari.
