City receives 86 mm rain

FAISALABAD: The city on Sunday morning received heavy rain which turned the weather pleasant with local Meteorological department predicted more rain in Faisalabad division during the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature was recorded 23 degree centigrade, whereas maximum temperature remained 31 degree. The dark clouds started hovering over the sky from night and rain coupled with thunderstorm started early in the morning and continued for an hour. Low-lying areas were inundated causing problems for the residents as well as pedestrians. Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Amir Aziz alerted his entire staff for draining out rainwater from city area by using heavy machinery. The MD WASA said that Faisalabad received 86 millimeter rain in Ghulam Muhammad Abad on Sunday morning, whereas it was recorded 40 mm in Allama Iqbal Colony, 33 mm in Gulistan Colony, and 12 mm in Madina Town.
