RAWALPINDI:Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister, Zeeshan Ashiq Malik visited the 10th Muharram procession to review arrangements regarding Ashura in the city.
Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema gave a detailed briefing to the advisor.
The advisor appreciated the arrangements and execution of the Ashura plan. He also expressed his gratitude for the arrangement of freshwater sabeels and free distribution of food on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to the details, the CM’s Advisor Zeeshan Ashiq Malik said that for the first time in the province’s history, water sabeels and free food ponits were organized on the occasion of Muharram, which sent a good message. He also commended the efforts of the relevant departments, peace committee and scholars of all schools of thought in peacekeeping during the Muharram days.
Later, talking to the media, the adviser said that the best arrangements were made for the provision of security. He said that all the organizers of proc
essions have also expressed satisfaction regarding security arrangements.
Institutions are fully prepared in case of any violation, he said.
He paid tribute to the police, civil defense, volunteers and law enforcement agencies for the excellent arrangements on the occasion of Ashura.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Aamer Khattak, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa, Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema and CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani were also present during his visit.
