KOHAT Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohat Dr. Azmatullah Wazir on Monday chaired a meeting regarding the activation of combined checkpoints to prevent smuggling in the district. According to the DC office, District Police Officer (DPO) Farhan Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Shahryar Qamar, Assistant Commissioner Kohat, Additional Assistant Commissioners Officers from Food Department, Agriculture Department, FBR, Customs, Excise and other related departments participated in the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner said that to prevent the smuggling of food items, they will monitor the transportation of food items at joint checkpoints consisting of representatives of various departments. ‘Strict action will be taken against the elements involved in smuggling’ he further added.
