Sialkot Renowned comedian, artist, and director Iftikhar Thakur on Thursday visited Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) and appreciated varsity administration for providing excellent educational opportunities to the girls, a release of the varsity said.
He also visited the Center of Excellence for Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and the Center of Excellence for Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and delivered a special address to the students.
A large number of students attended the event. In his address, Iftikhar Thakur described love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad ,(PBUH) as an essential part of faith. He also shared his spiritual experiences and recounted his journeys to Makkah and Madinah during Hajj and Umrah. Recalling various experiences and emotions associated with his visits to the holy cities, he encouraged the students to seek guidance from the blessed life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Iftikhar Thakur also spoke about the importance of raising awareness regarding blood-borne diseases. Appreciating the students’ spirit of blood donation, he encouraged them to actively participate in this humanitarian service. He emphasized that promoting public health and serving humanity are important social responsibilities.
He expressed his special gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shazia Bashir for the invitation and appreciated the university’s educational and social initiatives. At the conclusion of his address, he expressed his best wishes for the students and offered them his prayers and blessings.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shazia Bashir expressed her special gratitude to Iftikhar Thakur and Ehsar Foundation President Muhammad Siddique Haider for visiting the university and addressing the students. In her remarks, she welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of character building among students, social responsibility, and the spirit of serving humanity.
Ehsar Foundation President Muhammad Siddique Haider also spoke on the occasion and briefed the participants about various welfare and public health projects being undertaken by the foundation. He highlighted the foundation’s efforts to promote health, welfare, and humanitarian service in society.
During the event, the students showed keen interest and participated in large numbers. At the conclusion of the visit, the university administration expressed its gratitude to the distinguished guests.
