MIRPURKHAS:Divisional Commissioner Mirpurkhas Shahmir Khan Bhutto and Chairman Central Record Office, Government of Sindh, Dr. Kaleemullah Lashari, accompanied by DC Mirpurkhas Nawab Sameer Leghari and District Accounts Officer Nisar Kokhar, inspected the under-construction building of the Divisional Record Room, revenue records at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, and records maintained at the District Accounts Office.
During their visit to the under-construction building, Shahmir directed the relevant authorities to ensure the quality of construction materials and the safe installation of electrical wiring and lights to prevent possible damage to valuable government documents.
He said that official and historical records were valuable assets, and high-quality construction and appropriate safety measures were essential to ensure their protection.
He added that the establishment of a Divisional Record Room was important for preserving documents in an organized manner and ensuring easy access whenever required.
During the visit, matters relating to the Department of Archives and Archaeology were also reviewed.
Later, the officials inspected revenue records at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and reviewed the arrangements for the maintenance and protection of inactive records at the District Accounts Office.
The Divisional Commissioner and the Chairman Central Record Office appreciated the arrangements made for the preservation and management of records at the District Accounts Office.
