BAHAWALPUR:Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Raja Jahangir Anwar has said that all departments should take safety measures to deal with the possible flood situation due to heavy monsoon rains.
In the river belt, all precautionary measures should be completed in a timely manner including shifting of population from bank side areas and fixing and fortifying of river bands.
Commissioner issued these instructions to the administrative officers of the three districts of Bahawalpur division while presiding over a high-level meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zahid Pervez Waraich, Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan Syed Musa Raza, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Captain (retd) Muhammad Wasim, Chief Engineer Irrigation Department Khalid Bashir, Additional Commissioner Coordination Faisal Atta Khan and other officers of related departments were present.
The meeting was informed that there is no danger of flood in Bahawalpur Division but safety measures are being taken to avoid any untoward situation.
