RAWALPINDI:Commissioner, Rawalpindi Division, Salman Ghani, has directed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MPandTE) Directorate of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to ensure strict compliance with prescribed timelines for processing and disposing of cases received through the Electronic Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS).
The directions follow earlier instructions issued by the Punjab government for expeditious processing of official cases through the system.
The commissioner observed that prescribed timelines were not being consistently followed and that physical files were being processed without proper coordination with their corresponding online records.
He directed all RDA officials to ensure that cases received through e-FOAS were processed and disposed of within the stipulated time. The movement of physical files must also remain fully synchronised with the online workflow to ensure transparency, efficiency and accountability.
He emphasised that the system was designed to provide an efficient, transparent and time-bound mechanism for official case processing. All concerned formations were therefore required to follow prescribed procedures at every stage and avoid unnecessary delays, procedural lapses and discrepancies between digital and physical records.
The commissioner warned that any violation of prescribed timelines resulting in delays or a backlog of cases would be viewed seriously, and disciplinary action would be initiated against those responsible.
