Faisalabad: Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar visited Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology and Allied hospitals here on Thursday.
He inspected under-construction work on a new emergency block comprising 280 beds which is being completed at a cost of Rs 550 million at Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology. He also toured different wards and checked the medical facilities and ensured that medical instruments including CT Scan, Angiography machines will be provided to the hospital.
The commissioner was briefed that over 900,000 cardiac patients were provided treatment facilities, while heart surgeries of 1,000 children were also done during the last 6 months under CM children heart surgery programme at FIC during the year 2025.
The medicine was also supplied to more than 250,000 patients at their door steps during the year.
Later, the Commissioner visited Allied hospital-II and issued necessary instructions for the cleanliness of the hospital and washing of all wards under the Suthra Punjab programme.
In a briefing, the commissioner was told that over 5,000 patients were examined in oPD of the hospital on a daily basis, while 12,000 patients were being checked in Allied Hospital. Presently nearly 1,600 patients are under-treated in the hospital.
The commissioner was also told that Rs 80 million would be required for repair and maintenance of internal roads of the hospital after completion of sewerage work and Rs 100 million for repair and maintenance of the hospital building.
The commissioner however ensured on the occasion for providing financial resources to the hospital on priority basis.
