Sargodha: Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Friday chaired a meeting to review various issues and administrative matters concerning housing societies in the district.
The meeting reviewed matters relating to approval and regulation of housing societies, maps, development works, provision of basic facilities and issues faced by citizens.
Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Additional Commissioner Coordination, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue, representatives of the Sargodha Development Authority, Chief Officer District Council/District Officer Planning and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The commissioner directed strict compliance with rules and regulations, transparency and merit in all matters relating to housing societies.
He said action should be taken in accordance with law against unapproved or illegal housing schemes, while development works and provision of basic facilities in approved societies should be effectively monitored.
He directed the immediate constitution of a committee headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue to compile detailed data of all housing schemes in the district within seven days.
The committee would include representatives of the District Council, Sargodha Development Authority and Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA), besides the Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue.
The commissioner directed the committee to compile comprehensive data regarding approval status, legal status, area, maps, development works, basic facilities and other relevant matters of housing schemes.
The data would form the basis for future action and necessary legal and administrative measures.
He directed all concerned departments to resolve housing society-related matters through effective interdepartmental coordination and ensure protection of citizens’ interests.
Reports concerning various cases and issues related to housing societies were also reviewed during the meeting, and necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments.
