District

Bahawalpur: A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia to ensure timely possession of land allotted to deserving individuals and 100 per cent implementation of the Punjab government’s ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ programme, launched under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The meeting reviewed progress on implementation of the programme, the status of allotted plots and cases pending on the programme’s digital portal.

Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia directed the authorities to achieve the prescribed targets of the ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ programme in all three districts of the division and immediately complete the portal process for individuals who had already been allotted land. He stressed that there should be no unnecessary delay in handing over possession of land to eligible beneficiaries and directed the concerned authorities to accelerate the process of completing possession formalities for all allotted plots across the division.

The commissioner directed the authorities to expedite work on all pending cases, including 104 plots in Rahim Yar Khan, and complete the possession process for allotted plots in Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar at the earliest. He said that if the number of eligible beneficiaries was low in any tehsil or area, the concerned individuals should be called to the offices of the Assistant Commissioners so that the required portal formalities could be completed without delay and the prescribed targets achieved on time.

Commissioner Kathia directed the authorities to clearly identify the obstacles delaying all pending cases, including those in Hasilpur. He said that if a case involved any legal or administrative hurdle, the Commissioner’s Office should be informed immediately. However, he made it clear that the process of handing over land to eligible beneficiaries should not be delayed on the basis of non-existent obstacles. He directed that all stages of the programme be processed through the prescribed digital mechanism, with required information and documents uploaded to the portal in a timely manner. He also called for expediting the scrutiny of pending applications and the possession verification process.

The commissioner further directed officials to immediately report any login or portal-related technical issue to the relevant technical team. He was informed that technical support teams were available in all three districts to resolve portal-related issues. Commissioner Kathia directed the field formations to play an active role and monitor pending cases on a daily basis, ensuring timely removal of any hurdles.
