District

FAISALABAD:Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh has directed divisional officers to make public service their foremost priority, ensuring transparency, merit and accountability in the discharge of their duties as unnecessary delays in resolving citizens’ problems and providing relief would not be tolerated.

He issued these directions while meeting citizens under the Punjab government’s open-door policy. He listened to their individual and collective grievances, and ordered the relevant departmental officers to take immediate measures for their resolution.

During public hearing, the citizens raised issues and complaints concerning the Revenue, Health, Education, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Horticulture Agency and other departments.

The divisional commissioner issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers for prompt redressal of the grievances and directed them to process departmental matters on a priority basis.

Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh emphasized that the citizens should not be compelled to make unnecessary visits to government offices to get their legitimate problems resolved, directing the officers to ensure timely action on every application strictly in accordance with merit.
