Commissioner orders uninterrupted flour supply in open market:

District

Sargodha:Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Thursday directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted availability of flour in the open market at prescribed rates.

He issued the directions while chairing a meeting to review flour supply and availability across the division. Additional Commissioner Coordination, Assistant Commissioner General, Deputy Director Food and District Food Controller attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed flour availability in the open market, the supply chain, demand and supply situation and provision of flour at prescribed prices.

The meeting was informed that sufficient wheat stocks were available across the division and there was no shortage of flour anywhere. Flour supply was continuing normally, while availability in the open market was being ensured according to demand.

Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed the concerned officers to ensure abundant and uninterrupted flour supplies in the open market and effectively monitor the supply process.

He said no disruption in the provision of quality flour to citizens at prescribed rates would be tolerated.

He also directed authorities to further strengthen market monitoring to prevent artificial shortages, hoarding and profiteering, saying the district administration and Food Department should review the situation on a daily basis through close coordination.

The commissioner directed officials to keep a close watch on flour demand and supply and arrange additional supplies immediately in areas where demand increased, so that citizens did not face any difficulty in purchasing flour.

He said ensuring availability of essential commodities to citizens at reasonable prices was among the government’s top priorities and effective monitoring and timely action by the administration and Food Department should be ensured.
