Multan: Commissioner Amir Karim Khan on Saturday visited the under-construction Nishtar Road and reviewed the ongoing development and rehabilitation work.
The commissioner was briefed on the construction,rehabilitation,parking and traffic management plans for the road. Officials said development work was underway along a 3,600-running-foot stretch of Nishtar Road.
During the visit,the commissioner inspected carpeting, base course and other construction activities on both sides of the road.
He also reviewed progress on parking areas, drainage and footpaths.
He directed the authorities to ensure uniform and organized parking arrangements along Nishtar Road and called for special attention to improving traffic flow and providing better facilities to citizens.
The commissioner proposed inclusion of a green corridor and modern lighting as part of the road’s beautification plan.
He also directed that designs reflecting Multan’s cultural identity be incorporated into the project.
He stressed that construction,rehabilitation,beautification and parking works should be completed in an integrated manner.
SE Highways Ghulam Nabi was also present on the occasion and gave a detailed briefing to the commissioner.
