Sargodha: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Wednesday arrested a Punjab Police constable red-handed while allegedly receiving a bribe from a citizen for registration of a case at Daryakhan Police Station.



According to an ACE spokesperson, Muhammad Faiz, son of Muhammad Zubair and resident of Daryakhan, submitted an application to the Regional Director, Anti-Corruption Establishment, alleging that police constable Sami Ullah was demanding Rs10,000 as a bribe for registering a case.



On receiving the application, an ACE team led by the concerned Circle Officer and Hafiz Shahid, Magistrate under Section 30, conducted a raid and allegedly arrested the constable while receiving the bribe.



The accused was taken into custody and further legal proceedings were initiated, the spokesperson said.
