ISLAMABAD: Controller General of Accounts, Maqbool Ahmed Gondal on Thursday inaugurated the new data center to be established to digitalize the conventional cheque system to an online one to provide convenience to masses.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony at the AGPR head office here, he said that the plan was to complete the data center in one year.
He said: “Earlier there was a check system, it was reformed and now all banks are part of it. Our transaction with banks is through State Bank, very soon our manual system will be on online billing. The online billing project is for the whole of Pakistan.”
Gondal said the online billing project was being introduced in all four provinces. At present, he said online billing is being done in more than 20 ministries.
Earlier, the Controller General of Accounts laid the foundation stone of the data centre.
