Coordinated efforts always improve internal, external defense: Secretary ESD

LAHORE:Emergency Services Department Secretary Dr Rizwan Naseer saluted to all forces working on borders and ensuring security of the country.



Addressing the 121 Junior Commissioned Officers of Frontier Corps Baluchistan during their study tour of Emergency Services Headquarters and Academy here on Thursday, he emphasized on the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure internal and external defence of any country.



The Secretary also shared the development of Rescue 1122 which today is an integrated Emergency Services model for South Asia. Rescue 1122 has provided a sense of safety to citizens of Pakistan by strengthening emergency response capacity for managing all kinds of complex emergencies and disasters. He also shared the new initiative of raising a Rescue Scout Corps to establish safe & sustainable communities in Pakistan.



Earlier, the delegation of Frontier Crops of Baluchistan witnessed ongoing specialized training activities of Fire, Rescue, Medical, Deep Well Rescue, Burn House, Fire Fit Challenge, Height Rescue, Water Rescue, Swimming, Urban Search & Rescue and physical fitness training. The delegates also visited the Medical, Fire and Rescue Labs where they were briefed about the appropriate use of rescue equipment in rescue operations as well as its usage in Emergency Services Academy for training purposes.



Furthermore, government of Baluchistan intends to provide training of troops to enhance effectiveness in response measures by incorporating modern technology and facilities. Rescue 1122 is providing an efficient, timely and effective response services all across Punjab and efforts put in by the teams have been appreciated at international level.



A training session was also organized for 123 training troops by Emergency Services Academy for orientation session regarding essential lifesaving skills of CPR. The participants showed keen interest in training and practical demonstration.



Later on, Lt Col Kamran Khan on behalf of the delegates highly praised the Emergency Services System and untiring efforts of the Secretary Emergency Services and also presented the honorary shield to him on behalf of IGFC Baluchistan.
