Court acquits 4 accused in journalist murder case

LAHORE:A sessions court on Friday acquitted four accused, involved in killing of Journalist Husnain Shah, after retraction of the complainant and witnesses.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Yasin Mohal conducted the case proceedings, wherein complainant Mehwish, wife of deceased Journalist Husnain Shah, appeared.

The complainant submitted that the police had arrested four accused in connection with the case but they did not have any link with the matter. She submitted that the eye witnesses had also refused to identify the accused.

Subsequently, the court acquitted the accused, Syed Haider Abbas, Amir Raza Butt, Amjad Pasha and Syed Farhan, after giving them the benefit of doubt.

Journalist Husnain Shah was gunned down by two armed motorcyclists outside the Lahore Press Club (LPC) a few months ago. The Civil Lines police had registered a case under murder charges against the accused.
