`PESHAWAR: Commissioner Bannu Division, Parvez Sobat Khel on Monday said that actions against electricity theft, the cable mafia, and utility bill defaulters are being carried out on a daily basis, with committees consisting of divisional and district officials overseeing this effort.
He said that stringent measures are being taken by the provincial government against electricity thieves and the Kunda mafia.
These statements were made by Commissioner Bannu Division during meetings held in his office to review the progress of efforts to curb electricity theft, cable mafia activities, and outstanding utility bill payments
He said that hundreds of FIRs have been registered against individuals, and arrests have been made.
The commissioner appealed to the public, urging them to cooperate with officials in settling utility bills and putting an end to cable theft.
He emphasized that by cooperating with authorities, consumers could ensure that the burden of non-payers did not fall on those who regularly paid their bills.
He said that steps were being taken to separate defaulters from regular consumers to ensure uninterrupted actions against defaulters.
