Crackdown on illegal LPG refilling: 34 points sealed, vehicles impounded

JHANG: The Civil Defence Department on Monday has sealed 34 points in just two days against the unlawful refilling of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Jhang.

According to District Adminitration Spokesperson, the Civil Defence Department has been at the forefront of this operation, taking decisive steps to shut down illegal refilling operations. In addition to sealing the 34 points they have also confiscated cylinders and other equipment and initiated legal proceedings against offenders.

Four cases have already been registered against individuals involved in unlawful refilling activities in commercial markets.

The District Road Transport Authority (DRTA) has also played a crucial role in this crackdown, impounding 18 vehicles found using LPG cylinders illegally. These vehicles have been booked at various police stations and the owners face serious consequences.

Additionally, the Traffic Police have registered cases against 11 other vehicles for the same offense.

ffort, the district administration has provided a dedicated phone number, 03009601652 for citizens to report instances of LPG use in public transport.

The spokesperson has emphasized that cases will be registered against both those who refill gas illegally and the owners of the vehicles involved. Furthermore strict action will be taken against the owners of shops and refilling points.
