Rawalpindi: The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi on Wednesday continued its road safety camp in line with the vision of the Punjab chief minister, where City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani urged road users to adopt safety measures for their own lives and those of others.
The camp was also attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Malik Tariq Mehboob, Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam and other senior officers.
A police spokesman said the initiative aimed to raise public awareness about traffic laws, prevent road accidents and curb violations such as unlicensed driving, underage driving and riding motorcycles without helmets.
During the event, the CPO distributed helmets among motorcyclists, while traffic police officials installed rear-view mirrors on motorcycles to strengthen road safety measures.
Addressing citizens, CPO Hamdani stressed the importance of strict compliance with traffic laws, saying adherence was essential to reduce accidents and ensure a safer road environment. He said traffic accidents result in the loss of precious human lives and cause lasting hardship for families and society.
The spokesman said the road safety camp was part of broader efforts under the Punjab chief minister’s road safety vision to promote responsible driving, improve compliance with traffic regulations and ensure the protection of citizens in Rawalpindi.
