Daska cleanup operation clears 17 waste sites

Sialkot: A special cleanliness drive was underway across the district, with sanitation operations being accelerated in various areas.



As part of the drive, Daska Municipal Committee carried out a special cleanup operation along major roads and at key locations in the city, removing 60 tons of waste and clearing 17 sites.



According to the administration, garbage was removed from Stadium Road, College Road, Bank Road, Circular Road and other areas. Six tractor-trolleys, along with the Municipal Committee’s sanitation staff, participated in the operation to ensure prompt disposal of the collected waste.



Assistant Commissioner Daska Sadia Jaffar visited the sites to inspect the sanitation arrangements and issued necessary instructions to the staff. She directed the officials to ensure effective cleanliness measures along main roads, markets and urban areas and stressed continuous monitoring of these locations after the completion of cleanup operations.



Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq said that prompt action on public complaints and provision of a clean environment to citizens were among the administration’s top priorities. He said relevant teams were being mobilized immediately whenever sanitation issues were reported and that the special cleanliness drive would continue across the district.



The district administration urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities, dispose of waste at designated points and report sanitation-related issues promptly to help ensure a clean Sialkot.
