Battagram: Deputy Commissioner Battagram Muhammad Shoaib has directed relevant departments to expedite relief, rehabilitation and road restoration activities in areas affected by recent heavy rains and landslides.
Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) and Assistant Commissioner Battagram, visited Kand Allai, one of the areas affected by the rains and landslides on September 25.
During the visit, he inspected a flood-affected house where two children lost their lives in a tragic incident and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
He also inspected a road blocked by a landslide and directed the Communication and Works Department staff to immediately undertake restoration work and reopen the road for traffic.
Deputy Commissioner visited other affected houses and distributed essential relief items among affected families. He also surveyed damaged shops and assured affected traders of the district administration’s full support and assistance.
Muhammad Shoaib directed the concerned departments to complete relief and rehabilitation activities on a priority basis to restore road connectivity, normal traffic and public facilities in the affected areas at the earliest.
