DC directs accelerated efforts to make city greener, more attractive

Faisalabad: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique has called for stepped-up efforts to expand greenery, improve parks and green belts and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city. He directed the Parks and Horticulture Agency to ensure quality plantation and timely completion of ongoing beautification projects. During visit to the Horticulture Agency, the deputy commissioner inspected various ongoing projects and activities, and reviewed progress on initiatives aimed at improving parks, green belts and public spaces of the city. He directed the Horticulture Agency officers to accelerate plantation, plant-care and landscaping activities on green belts to further expand green cover of the city. He stressed that quality plants should be selected for parks and green belts and their timely watering, pruning and protection ensured.



He further directed the officials to give special attention to the beautification of city entry and exit points, major roads, intersections and public places while ensuring that all ongoing projects were completed within their stipulated timelines. He emphasized that no compromise would be made on the quality of horticulture works and directed the agency to utilize all available resources to provide citizens with a clean, green and pleasant urban environment.



Earlier, Managing Director Horticulture Dilawar Hussain briefed the deputy commissioner about the agency’s ongoing development schemes, beautification activities and the use of modern machinery and equipment. He also apprised him of measures being taken to improve parks and green belts and promote a cleaner and greener urban environment. He said that practical measures were being implemented in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to enhance beauty of the city, promote a lush and healthy environment, improve parks and green belts and provide citizens with better recreational facilities.



Dilawar Hussain said that coordinated institutional efforts were underway to transform Faisalabad into a greener and more attractive city, adding that the objective was not only to improve its aesthetic appearance but also to provide residents with a pleasant, healthy and quality environment. He said that improvement of parks and green belts would provide citizens with better recreational opportunities while also contributing to a healthier and more pleasant urban atmosphere.
