SUKKUR:Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Dr. Sharjeel Noor Channa has directed education officials to ensure teachers’ regular attendance, take strict action against absent teachers and prioritize the reopening of closed schools across the district to safeguard children’s education.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting of the District Education Service Delivery Commission at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Shikarpur.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Monitoring Officer (CMO) Education, District Education Officers (DEOs) for Secondary and Primary Education, officials of District Education Works, Taluka Education Officers (TEOs), the Reform Support Unit (RSU) coordinator and other education department officials.
During the meeting, the deputy commissioner instructed the Chief Monitoring Officer to visit various schools alongside the DEOs for Secondary and Primary Education and monitor teachers’ attendance and the overall educational environment.
Dr. Sharjeel Noor directed the officials to issue warnings to teachers who remained absent from their duties and instruct them to attend school regularly and teach students. He warned that a list of persistently absent teachers would be prepared and forwarded to the Secretary of Education through an official letter for strict disciplinary action.
The deputy commissioner further instructed education officials to submit reports of their school visits to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on a regular basis to ensure effective monitoring and accountability.
He emphasized that reopening closed schools across the district must be given top priority so that children could resume their education without further disruption.
Dr. Sharjeel Noor stressed that all relevant officials must perform their duties diligently and take practical measures to improve educational service delivery, ensure teachers’ presence in classrooms and provide students with better learning opportunities throughout Shikarpur district.
