DC orders accelerating historic heritage revival project

Multan:The district administration has stepped up efforts to restore and upgrade Multan’s centuries-old historical heritage, with Deputy Commissioner Dr Muhammad Faisal Saleem directing departments concerned to accelerate work on the Walled City project.



He issued the directions while chairing a meeting to review in detail the progress on various heritage restoration and development initiatives in the city.



The meeting was briefed on ongoing plans for the upgradation of Qila Kohna, Langar Khana, Food Street and the historic city walls, besides other initiatives aimed at preserving Multan’s cultural and architectural heritage.



Dr Faisal Saleem directed the relevant departments to speed up development work and ensure completion of all components within the stipulated timelines.



He said restoration of Multan’s historic sites would help revive the city’s centuries-old cultural identity and showcase its rich heritage to visitors and future generations.



The Deputy Commissioner said the upgradation of Qila Kohna, Langar Khana, Food Street and the historic fortification would not only restore the character of these landmarks but also provide improved facilities to citizens and tourists.



He said the district administration was taking all possible measures to protect Multan’s historic heritage and promote the city’s unique identity as one of the country’s oldest cultural centres.
